Foundation Design:
Virginia Home Furnishings, Rocky Mount, Virginia – Foundation designs for steel framed retail and warehouse buildings ranging from 12,000sf to 24,000sf.
Jammin Apparel, Rocky Mount, Virginia – Foundation designs for a 27,500 sf steel framed office and manufacturing building.
Rainbow Forest Baptist Church, Troutville, VA – Foundation design for a 8,400 sf youth center building with mezzanine level.
Bartley Residence, Eagle Rock, VA – Foundation for 1,140 sf double-wide residence.
Bowman Residence, Callaway, VA – Dual level basement and sub-basement wall and concrete floor assembly for extremely steep site.
Hogan Residence, Elliston, VA – Foundation for 1,050 sf double-wide residence in flood plain.
Shelor Residence Foundation, VA – Basement foundation and support beam design for double-wide single family residence
Structural Design and Analysis:
Metwood, Inc., Boones Mill, VA – Continuous design, analysis, and certification of patented lightgage steel building products including headers, girders, suspended slab support systems, trusses, and joist reinforcers since the company’s inception.
Woolwine Elementary School, Botetourt County, VA – Design and analysis of lightgage steel overbuild trusses with multiple rooflines.
Play-It-Again Sports, Roanoke, VA – Design and analysis of lightgage steel trusses with dutch hip.
Cumberland County Detention Center, Cumberland County, NC – Design and analysis of seismic anchors and restraints for new HVAC equipment and miscellaneous plumbing
Brooks Food Group, Bedford, VA – Analyzed existing structural building components and designed reinforcement for life-safety fall protection anchorage points
Building Plans:
Roanoke 1st Church of the Nazarene Youth Community Center, Roanoke, VA – design of a new 2-level 9,400 square foot new multi-purpose worship facility for this church including architectural, electrical, mechanical, foundation and fire protection plans.
Harvest Ministries Family Life Center, Roanoke, VA – design of a new 2-level 12,000 square foot new multi-purpose worship facility addition for this church including architectural, electrical, mechanical, foundation and fire protection plans.
Harvest Baptist Church, Blacksburg, VA – design of a new 2-level 7,000 square foot new worship facility addition for this church including architectural, electrical, mechanical, foundation and fire protection plans
Kinsey Crane and Sign Office and Operations Building, Roanoke, VA – design of a new 7,000 square foot facility for this local business including architectural, electrical, mechanical, foundation and fire protection plans
Commonwealth Kinetics, Salem, VA - design of a new 5,325 square foot facility for this local business including architectural, electrical, mechanical, and fire protection plans
Valley Heavy Duty Truck and Frame Alignment, Botetourt County, VA – design of foundation, structural steel frame, and site layout for new 8,000 square foot heavy-duty service garage. Structural design featured the modification of scrap metal building frames to create frames for the project.
First Security Self Storage, Salem, VA – design of new 252 unit facility including surveying, civil work, minor architectural, electrical, foundation design, and sanitary force main system design
First Security Self Storage, Christiansburg, VA – design of new 400+ unit facility with climate controlled units including surveying, civil engineering, minor architectural, electrical, foundation design, and utility connections.
Inspections, Design Review and Certification:
FHA Inspections, Roanoke, VA (and surrounding areas) – Conducted site inspections of numerous manufactured homes. Where applicable, we provided certification that the structures comply with the requirements of the HUD Handbook 4930.3 “Permanent Foundations Guide for Manufactured Housing”.
Insurance Investigations, Roanoke, VA (and surrounding areas) – Conducted site investigations of various residential and commercial situations. Provided professional opinions regarding the cause of the problem and recommended corrective measures when necessary.
National Pools of Roanoke, Roanoke, VA - Reviewed structural adequacy of typical pool design sections in accordance with Building Codes and certified drawings
Virginia Pools Sales & Service, Roanoke, VA - Reviewed structural adequacy of typical pool design sections in accordance with Building Codes and certified drawings.
Civil Engineering:
Valley Monument Company, Vinton, VA – Provided site development design for 3,600 sf general office facility including storm drain conveyance into eathen stormwater management pond, sanitary sewer extension design with creek crossing, parking layout and landscaping.
Jammin Apparel, VA – Provided layout and site design for 27,500 sf manufacturing facility. Designed access road, parking, shipping and receiving, storm drainage, perimeter landscaping and utility connections.
Waters Boat Storage, Moneta, VA – Performed site topographical survey, designed site layout, storm water conveyance & detention, erosion control measures, in addition to designing the foundation and steel frame superstructure for a 14,000 square foot boat storage warehouse.
Summerfield Village Phase Two, Bonsack, VA – Layout, grading, stormwater management, and utilities extension for major office park expansion utilizing a series of 138” diameter corrugated metal stormwater detention chambers with provisions for parking and a building above. Also provided construction management and inspection services during the installation of the underground stormwater management structure.
Red Roof Inn Hotel, Troutville, VA – Grading, access, parking, stormwater management, water, and sewer design for new motel and restaurant building featuring extremely difficult grading and highway entrance conditions.
Ashley Plantation, Section 5 Subdivision, Daleville, VA – Lot layout, grading, access roads, stormwater management, water and sewer extensions for new 35 lot expansion of existing golf course community subdivision.
Touchstone Farms Subdivision, Fincastle, VA – Designed grading, access road, and stormwater management for a large lot, low impact subdivision with 14 lots.
Vision of Faith Ministries New Sanctuary, Roanoke, VA – Grading, access, parking, underground stormwater management, and utilities design for new worship facility adjacent to an existing church building.
Korean Baptist Church, Roanoke County, VA – Grading, access, parking, and utilities design for new worship facility adjacent to an existing office building.
Nationwide Homes, Roanoke Valley, VA – designed several sanitary sewer pump back systems for residential applications that improved the marketability of various topographically challenging lots.
Roanoke 1st Church of the Nazarene Youth Community Center, Roanoke, VA – Provided site development design for 9,000 sf facility for purpose of expanding the church’s youth ministry. Due to a lack of storm sewer or adequate receiving channels, the site development included the design of onsite infiltration basins to satisfy the local stormwater management criteria. Designed water and sewer utility connections, parking areas, site lighting, and landscaping to satisfy local zoning ordinance.
Rainbow Forest Baptist Church, Troutville, VA – Provided layout and master plan site design for 1,100 seat worship facility, administrative and support buildings and subsequent 2,200 seat worship facility on 63 acre parcel. Designed access road, parking, storm drainage, perimeter landscaping and utility connections.
Fincastle Baptist Church, Fincastle, VA – Provided layout and master plan site design for 500 seat worship facility and support buildings and subsequent 1,200 seat worship facility on a 20 acre parcel. Designed entrances, access road, parking, storm drainage, perimeter landscaping and septic system.
Hollins Rd. Church of the Brethren, Roanoke, VA – Designed the parking layout, storm water conveyance & detention system and erosion control measures in addition to doing the topographic survey for a new 7,500 square foot metal multipurpose building. Project featured placement of detention chamber beneath the building and an innovative drainage flow distribution to offsite.
Construction Administration:
Roanoke Cement Company, Cloverdale, VA – Inspected and certified the construction of a 200’+ tall structural steel preheater tower from foundation to completion. Provided owner with inspection logs and daily reports.
Roanoke Cement Company, Cloverdale, VA – Inspected and certified the construction of a 100’+ tall slip formed concrete silo for raw material storage. Provided owner with inspection logs and daily reports.
Botetourt County Landfill, Fincastle, VA – Provided onsite daily inspection of construction of multimillion-dollar facility expansion. Processed pay requests, change orders, and work change directives. Provided County with daily inspection logs and weather reports. Provided necessary documentation to the VA Department of Environmental Quality to obtain the necessary operational permit.
Botetourt County Tinker Creek and Greenfield Sewer Extension, Daleville, VA – Generated contract documents for public bidding. Evaluated bids and recommended acceptance of successful bidder to the County. Provided routine construction inspection of multimillion-dollar sewer extension. Processed pay requests, change orders, and work change directives. Provided County with daily inspection logs.
Duncan Hall Covered Walkway – VA Western Community College, Roanoke, Virginia – made recommendations to owner and contractor to effectively deal with unforeseen foundation conditions.
Council Elementary School, Buchanan, VA – Provided shop drawing review and construction inspections with field reports. Processed change orders and work completion reports.
